New Home, Same Cozy!
Well, Kin, it looks like Cozykins is getting ready for another adventure! After years of building, experimenting, creating, and occasionally wondering what on earth I thought I was doing when I started this whole thing, we're preparing to pack up our lives and take root in Colorado.~
Specifically, we're fighting to make Fort Collins our new home, and I couldn't be more excited about the possibilities that come with this next chapter!
There is a lot to do between now and then, of course (because apparently moving an entire household isn't enough of a project on its own), but I'm already thinking about the people I'll meet, the things we'll create, and the opportunities that might come from putting down roots somewhere new.
For those of you who have followed Cozykins through its various adventures, you know that this little business has worn quite a few hats over the years. I've offered event planning, community-building, creative projects, business development, and even the beginnings of building a makerspace where people could learn new skills and bring their ideas to life. Each of those experiences has taught me something about the kind of work I enjoy, the people I want to work with, and the sort of contribution I'd like to make.
Now, I'm ready to bring those pieces together in a new way!
So, What's Next for Cozykins?
I am leaning Cozy toward creative assistance and planning services, with a particular focus on helping creative entrepreneurs, independent business owners, artists, and other imaginative folks get their ideas out of their heads and into the world.
After all, these have been the services I've done B2B that’s outperformed all my other stuff; might as well go all in!
If you've ever tried to run a small creative business, you probably know how quickly the actual creative work can get buried under everything else. There's scheduling, organizing, research, correspondence, social media, event logistics, project management, planning, follow-up, and approximately seventeen other things you suddenly need to know how to do because you had the audacity to start a business around something you love.
Sometimes you need an extra set of hands, or you need someone who can help untangle a project, organize your thoughts, research possibilities, or turn a big, exciting idea into a list of things that can actually get done. Maybe you do everything, but hate the events, or have connections already, but don’t know how to engage. Sometimes you just need someone who can look at the mountain of tasks in front of you and help figure out where to start.
That's where I'd love to come in!
My goal is always to offer flexible support that adapts to the person, the project, and the season of life we're working in. That might mean helping someone coordinate an event, supporting a business launch, organizing administrative tasks, brainstorming a new creative direction, assisting with social media, or helping a community project find its feet. I'm open to the unusual requests, the ambitious ideas, and the projects that need a little creative problem-solving to get moving.~
I like keeping life interesting, and I know firsthand as a disabled person that people don't all work the same way. Our abilities, schedules, energy, and priorities can change— sometimes considerably— and I want to build a business that leaves room for that reality while still delivering thoughtful, reliable work.
There's plenty of room for creativity in the way we approach the practical stuff, too!
Colorado, Here We Come!
One of the things I'm most looking forward to is finding my place in the Fort Collins community.
Working remotely means I can continue collaborating with clients throughout the United States, and I absolutely intend to make the most of that. Still, there's something special about being able to meet the people behind the projects, show up for local events, support independent businesses, and build relationships with the folks making interesting things happen right in your own backyard.
I'd love to connect with local artists, makers, event organizers, small-business owners, creative entrepreneurs, and community-minded people who are excited about collaborating. If you're building a business, planning an event, developing a creative project, or sitting on an idea you've been meaning to do something with, I'd love to hear what you're working on!
I'm especially interested in the intersections between creativity and community: the events that bring people together, the independent businesses that make a place feel like home, and the collaborations that happen when a few people realize they can make something better together.
Our home is expected to go on the market next month, and we're working toward making the transition to Colorado happen over the coming months, with the goal of getting established and pursuing local collaborations in spring 2027.
Until then, I'm looking forward to getting acquainted with the area, connecting with people online, and learning more about the creative community I'm soon to join.
If you're in Larimer County or the surrounding areas and think we might have something to talk about, please don't hesitate to say hello!~
A Little Room to Grow
One thing I've learned through building Cozy is that a business can evolve as you do. I'm giving myself room to explore that evolution while bringing everything I've learned along with me. The experience I've gained through resilient entrepreneurship over the past 12 years— event work, community projects, and the many behind-the-scenes tasks involved in making things happen— will continue to inform what I do next.
Here's to new beginnings, fresh surroundings, creative collaborations, and making a little more room for the things that make life interesting!
Fort Collins, we're working on getting there!
If you've got an idea you've been itching to bring to life, keep me in mind. I have a feeling we're going to have some fun with this next chapter. ♡ You can use the Contact page or my socials to contact, I am able to start meeting up!
